Easy Kids Birthday Favors - Free Printable Tags

 Our youngest will be 9 in a few weeks and I just booked his party at and now have Invitations, party favors and classroom favors to prepare. The party is for 10 cards and his class favors are for 24. Because a student in his class severe allergies she does not allow food gifts so kids typically bring in trinkets to hand out. I found some water bottles for under $1 and am doing those, but I needed tags to print and attach.

HP Gift Tag

This is what I use my HP Print and Photo Projects download for. I have it installed on my Mac and I just open it, choose a project and design and print. I found this tablet, changed the text and had them printed in under 10 minutes. It took me longer to cut all the string for tying these onto the bottles.

Birthday favor tags

I have an HP Instant Ink eligible printer. The HP Envy 7640 costs under $130 and can print, fax, scan, copy and do photo wirelessly. I am so excited about the wireless feature on this printer because I can sit on the couch and while reading emails or messages, I save it as a document right on my phone then open my HP All-in-One Remote app and hit print! My copy is sitting on my printer and I never left the couch or promised myself I will print out later only to forget.
Why do I need an HP Instant Ink compatible printer? Because it works with my ink cartridge to send a message to HP when I am low and I have ink at my door within days and before I run out! How simple is that?

Making gift tags

If you can’t find water bottles, try attaching tags to bulk and inexpensive favors like keychains. Until I stumbled across these bottles, I almost used some Emoji keychains I found for under $15 that was enough for his entire class.

I printed 24 copies, cut them each out and cut 25 strands of ribbon. Used a hole punch so I can insert the ribbon and tie to each bottle. The great thing is that these bottles were under $1 and were BPA free plastic.

With my husband and I eating healthier and cleaner it has actually been a challenge to get creative with the few foods we choose to make meals with. We are not eating rices, pasta, breads or cheese. The only grain we allow ourselves is a slice of ezekiel bread in the morning or whole grain bars. This Best Healthy Ground Turkey Lettuce Wrap recipe is easy to make and very healthy.

The best part about this recipe is the flavor of the meat and the versatility of the recipe. You can easily substitute your own spices for mine. You can also choose your own toppings. In this recipe we top our wraps with diced tomatoes and raw almonds we crush. The crunch of the romaine and the almonds is fantastic.

We live north of Seattle and a lot of our family is south of Seattle so it makes the city a gathering place for us for birthdays and occasions. We just recently celebrated my Dad’s 70th birthday with the entire family beginning with the Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room then dinner at Cutters Point. We topped it of by riding the Wings Over Washington exhibit on the pier and a waterfront walk.

Seattle Sounders

If your family loves sports, I highly recommend attending a Seattle Sounders or Seahawks game while in town. They say around here that if you enter Centurylink Field as a visitor you will leave a fan. Seattle loves its teams and the pride is plentiful inside one of the loudest sports stadium.

**MLS Seattle Sounders game tip: If you score Sounders tickets, head to Occidental Park 90 minutes before kick off where Pre 90 starts with guest speakers and they will announce the starting 11. The last one we attended my son won a hat (above photo). At 60 minutes prior to kick off the crowd starts marching to the field with popular chants. If you are going to the game, this is a must do! Lemon Garlic Chicken Legs Instant Pot Recipe

Instant Pot Chicken Recipe

My husband and I stared a low carb diet and he is watching his red meat intake. This leaves us having to get real creative on cooking poultry, lean pork and seafood that isn’t loaded in sauces and cheeses. I have had an Instant Pot for a few months now and had only used it twice because I feel lost in how to use it. Then I got The I Love My INSTANT POT Recipe Book.

I chose to recreate the lemon garlic chicken legs recipe that is in the recipe book. It was so easy and cooked up great. My husband son and I polished them off. I even had leftover lemon and garlic for the asparagus.

Lemon Garlic Chicken Recipe

  • 1/3 C Olive Oil
  • 1/4 C Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Zest
  • 4 Garlic Cloves (minced)
  • 1/4 Tsp Sea Salt
  • Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
  • (I also adde pinch of smoked paprika)
  • 2 Lbs. Chicken wings or legs
  • 1 C chicken broth

Mix all but chicken and broth. Add chicken and marinade in fridge for at least 1 hour (I threw all in a large ziploc to marinade). Add chicken broth to the pot. Insert a steam basket (I don’t have one yet so used tad less broth and laid in there-came out great). Fix so not overlapping. Lock Lid. Set to manual 10 minutes. When timer beeps, let pressure release naturally for 5 minutes, Then quick release pressure until float valve drops and unlock lid. Place cooked chicken onto parchment-lined baking sheet and put under oven broiler for 3-5 minutes until browned.
