Labeling your child’s baby bottle might seem like a straightforward task, but it’s not. There are several factors to consider when it comes to baby bottle labels. Labeling bottles for use at home can be relatively easy, but the game changes when you’re sending your child to daycare. First off, it’s recommended that you label and pack your child’s bottles the night before, so you don’t forget to do it, or lose precious time in the morning before going to work.

Daycares will have rules in place for bottle labeling. Some will be stricter than others, depending if the baby is fed baby milk formula or breast milk. Either way, you’ll be asked to at least label the bottles with the date and the baby’s name. Bottle labeling in daycares is crucial so your child gets fed properly.

Next, are 4 options for labeling baby bottles:

1. Waterproof baby bottle labels

These baby bottle labels can be easily found through a Google search. There are many options you can get from Amazon and Etsy. They’re like stickers, so you can easily paste them on your baby’s bottles. Some of them just require you to write the information on the label, while others will have a lamination on top, so you’ll have to lift it to enter the information asked by your baby’s daycare. The only issue with these labels is they won’t stick as long, so you’ll have to be mindful of this. But they are also very affordable, so it’s just a matter of being on top of it.

2. Reusable baby bottle labels

Reusable write-on labels will stay stuck to the surface you put them on and are very hard to remove, unlike waterproof baby bottle labels. When you apply the reusable label for the first time, you’ll have to wait 24 hours for it to stick properly, but once it’s stuck, you’ll be good to go. With this type of label, you can change what’s written on the bottle every day. Reusable baby bottle labels bring special markers to write on their surface. To erase these labels, you’ll just need a damp towel and some elbow grease. Remember to erase the information before putting the bottles in the dishwasher, as the heat will make the special ink permanent.

3. Customized baby bottle labels

Customized baby bottle labels are usually very pretty and will help your baby’s bottles to stand out because of their uniqueness. The only thing about this type of baby bottle labels is that they only come with your baby’s name. In this sense, they’re similar to the personalized silicon bands you can also acquire as baby bottle labels. This means that if you want to include other information on the bottle you’ll have to look for alternatives. Don’t forget to measure the dimensions of your baby’s bottles so these labels fit them perfectly.

4. DIY baby bottle labels

If you’re going the DIY route, you can go two ways. The first and most thrifty way is using masking tape. It’s important that you choose colors that stand out. And also, use a permanent marker to write on them. The downsides of going for this option are that it might be time-consuming depending on how many bottles you have to mark. Also, masking tape is not waterproof, so you’ll have to replace these labels constantly. On the other hand, you could purchase a label maker. There are some in the market that are small, have their own built in printer, and use thermal technology to mark the labels, which means not worrying about pens or filling them in.
