Strong Fathers, Strong Daughters is based off of its New York Times Bestselling book written by Dr. Meg Meeker about a successful businessman whose daughter decides to marry a missionary. Dad and daughter (Abby) had dreams of working together once she graduated business school, but she took a missionary trip, fell in love and her plans changed. Dad suddenly feels like he has been replaced by her new fiance (Oz) and has a very hard time letting her go! She has plans to leave on a 3 year mission in another country after marrying Oz, rather than taking the job with her Father. Meanwhile, Dad has 2 other daughters he loves and perhaps should get to know better and prepare for them to grow and leave home as well. This relatable film is a must-see for Dads and daughters!

You have seen these stars before – Dave Coulier from Full House and Emily Pendergast from The Connor’s and more. They are back as radio hosts in a new Pure Flix show, LIVE+LOCAL. This is an easy watch about the Tommy (Coulier) and Tina (Pendergast) show for a Christian radio station. It has been the same run for almost a decade and perhaps it is time for change, but Tommy has a tough time with change. Tina is loving the change!

What really adds to this series are their live guest interviews that they do with real celebrities – Danny Ray, Leanne Morgan, John Cooper, Colton Dixon, Anna Lind Thomas, Anthem Lights, Whitney Miller, Dustin Nickerson, Jeff Allen, Dallas Jenkins, and more! Leanne Morgan really cracked me up!

Let’s focus on episode 1 where they interview Danny Ray, author & magician and Leanne Morgan, comedian. The episode sets up to introduce the actors of the show. There are really only 4 regulars, Tommy and Tina the radio hosts and producers Jerry and Lucy. Lucy is very green and Jerry has all the new ideas to persuade to give the show a modern edge.

Going Home Episode 2: The Cards You’re Dealt Pure Flix Subscription Giveaway

New on Pure Flix is the series, Going Home. Episodes 1 and 2 are available to watch and I just completed Episode 2, The Cards You’re Dealt. When you have a life partner and you have time to prepare for death, you would think it can become easier. Vance and Betty seemed to arrive at Sunset House hospice prepared for the end of Betty’s life.

In this couple’s life they had fun stories of travel, but you learn they never had children. After multiple miscarriages it was determined Betty could never carry a baby to term and they went on through life as just husband and wife. Betty is so light-hearted and uses humor to get through her illness, but no one is immune to painful memories no matter how long ago.

After sitting on death’s doorstep for some time, she seems to look back on life and feel so much. At the same time, she wants to look ahead at what life can be for Vance without her. He is not in the right health himself and that worries her. You immediately feel a sense of selflessness in Betty.

As the episode comes to an end, she longs to hold those babies in heaven again, she needed help finding after-care for Vance and Nurse Charley (Cynthia Geary) is there to help them cross her last journey. Hospice care is truly Nurse Charley’s calling after her experience of being with her Grandmother during her passing many years ago. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. – 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIV)
