It is the end of March and we all know what that means! Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and more entertaining for Memorial weekend and summer grilling parties. When I am hosting a dinner or event, I like to pick up something new and fun to offer my guests. So, getting barware and serveware gifts is what I love best! I also love gifting barware for the hard-to-shop for.
These Maps Barware by Uncommon Green make great entertaining pieces and gifts. Living near Seattle I have our city map, but they offer choices of other popular cities all over the nation.
The Maps Barware can be ordered as rock glass, pints, stemless wine glass, masons and stemmed glasses. There is a gift for anyone who loves to enjoy a drink or serve them at gatherings.
When I pull out the Maps Rock Glass it always becomes a fun conversation piece. I don’t know if I can pull it out around anyone without them questioning where it came from and examining the stunning etching design of streets, landmarks and neighborhoods.
There are great benefits for using LED lighting inside and outside your home. Not only are LED bulbs energy efficient, they can be better on the eyes. I use the SANSI LED Motion Sensor Outdoor Wall Light to bring security to my backyard at night.
Our SANSI LED Motion Sensor Outdoor Wall Light turns on automatically when motion is detected and senses light levels and motion with a range of 180 degrees and max 50 feet. That is a great range in terms of outdoor security lighting.
It also has an adjustable design so you can point that light exactly where you need or away from the neighbors windows in our case. There are three working modes, Test Mode, Motion Sensor Mode, and Manual Mode.
The 30W outdoor light is rated at 3,000 lumens, which provides efficient lighting for your exterior living environment. 30W motion sensor light is equivalent to 250W incandescent and that means less energy used. LED lighting is so crisp and bright. It is such a great option for safety.
The light is waterproof, which ensures that the light could work outdoor in rainy weather. In auto mode you can choose a light setting working time from 1-10 minutes when it detects motion. And rain or shine, it is bright and will stay on for your specified amount of time needed to respond to the motion activation.
Will you be spring cleaning this year? Make sure that as you replace lighting to more efficient bulbs or add outdoor security that you keep SANSI in mind.
I have partnered with Sharpie for this feature. Samples were sent and opinions are my own
Chances are you have a drawer in your desk or kitchen with some Sharpie markers. They are like a home staple everyone has laying around. There is no time like Back to School season that my Sharpies get used the most. I have personal items to mark and the kids have backpacks to stuff and I use my Sharpies for so many organizing tasks before that first day.
Sharpie has much more than that standard black pen we all know and love to use. Find highlighters and art cut pens for so much more uses around the home and with schoolwork.
Don’t Lose Your Items
Marking your kids jackets, lunchboxes, bags, helmets and supplies saves money and can mean that in the event your child leaves it laying around it will get back to you. I work in the schools and I cannot tell you how out of control the lost and found can get! Using Sharpie pens to mark your child’s items means it will last through the year and weather. I like using the Sharpie Extreme Makers due to their fade-resistance.
Back to School Supply List
Do you have your supply list? I go around the house first and mark off items I already have and that way I do not overbuy at the store. Having the Sharpie Highlighters is great for marking off the items I have. Once I am done shopping I can still see the list as I load it all up into his backpack.
First Day Breakfast
There is a lot to do on that first morning. It is exciting, the kids nerves are on high and you are in a bittersweet moment. Make breakfast special. Decorate a plate, cook their favorite breakfast menu. It takes moments and starts the day off right. It is going to be a big day!
Have the Kids Organize their own subjects
It is tempting to stay up late one night and go down the list and pack the kids items for them. However, for the older child it is important that they find their own way to organize and prep for subjects. They need to find what works for them and motivates them to get their work done on time. Hand them the supplies you bough and some pens and book wraps. Let them organize it themselves.
Fall Sports
Don’t put those Sharpies away yet! Are they starting football, cheer or soccer? Mark that equipment or it is bound to get lost forever on a field or court!
So many Sharpies for your ‘so many’ back to school tasks! Find them at retailers near you. For inspiration on Sharpie projects you can have fun with, visit Sharpie.com
Let me share a not-so-funny, funny story! This past Christmas I was gifted a high quality knife set by my parents. When I got home Christmas evening and after unloading gifts from the car I began to open my knives so I can wash them. I have always bought cheap sets and never had razor sharp knives. When you remove a sharp knife from its packaging sleeve, it sort of narrows as you slide it off and then your fingers are suddenly under that sleeve and I sliced my pointer finger. Nothing major, but I had to stop the bleeding and grab a band-aid.
I then switched hands and not being a very great left-hander I did it again. I have 2 fingers that I soon realized I needed my butterfly band-aids for to get the minor cuts to close and stop bleeding. I decided perhaps it was a long day and I am tired and my husband is trying not to shoot puns and jokes and I grab the last chefs knife to move them back on the counter so I can wash them in the morning and….my ring finger caught the blade corner. Yes! 3 fingers were bandaged by the end of my clumsy knife moment! Enter Sink Safe….
Whether you are dealing with old or new knives or perhaps you are just clumsy like me, the Sink Safe knife caddy is your kitchen sink (and fingers) saver! Our home is brand new as of last August and this sink of our is already full of scratches from throwing knives and pans into the sink. The Sink Saver can help keep the knives tucked safely inside the injection-molded Santoprene sleeve.
The sleeve gives you an anti-slip surface with contoured top grip so you can store in or out of the sink tub and carry to the dishwasher or knife block safely. You can feel the quality and durability!
See how the knives are tucked safely inside? You don’t have to worry when sticking your hands blindly into the sudsy water, especially if the kids have dish duty. It has drain holes so you can even rince knives and utensils off through the sleeve before washing if you use the dishwasher.
