Bakery on Main New Hot Breakfast

Samples sent for feature

The days and nights are getting colder and perhaps the cold cereal in the morning needs a warm touch. Bakery on Main has been bringing natural foods to us as they roll into specialty stores. Now there is a new hot, grain cereal. The two I have are the unsweetened varieties. They do have that grain taste to them and perhaps you don’t even need to sweeten on your own. I think the Quinoa Multigrain is great on it’s own and I did add honey (my so adds yogurt) to the Amaranth Multigrain. Honey is great at the cold and flu season anyhow so it’s a great way to get honey and grains in my day.

These varieties are oat-free and certified gluten-free. It is the hot cereal you love with the touch of grains. They make a great source of fiber, ALA Omega-3 and have 27.5 grams of whole grains.

Inside the box are individual packets. Simply tear open, add water and microwave. You can add some honey, fruit or other toppings as desired to give it the flavor you want.

It is also Non-GMO Project Verified, OU Kosher, and free of sodium, cholesterol, saturated and trans fat, dairy, casein and wheat. Just another you can find at natural food stores near you. Visit Bakery on Main to learn more and see the entire product line.

BFree Wheat and Gluten-Free Breads

BFree-Gluten Free | Parenting Healthy

Just last week, I took my son for his 8 year well check and needed to discuss some constipation issues with her that have not gotten better since his last visit on the topic. We took some blood from him to rule out any liver or other issues, but feel we know his real problem. When he was a toddler he hated to go #2 anywhere but home. He would hold it all day at daycare and even through kindergarten this was an issue. In those years he trained his colon to stay enlarged and now it is to the point where his muscles that trigger your body that you have to go are inactive right now. The Xray showed a large colon and a lot of stool. So we have to retrain his gut. Not the most glamorous topic to discuss, but apparently this is not uncommon.

In this regimen I will have him on some OTC meds to keep him emptying and some Mylanta daily for 6 months. Diet is a huge key. I am even to stop his multivitamin because the iron affects him so much and can cause him to back up. He is to go light on pasta, bananas, apples, applesauce and standard white bread. I am starting some supplements (Calcium and Vitamin D) and watching the types of bread and grain he does eat. He loves pastas and breads and now have to choose wisely like only whole grains and low on wheat and glutens for now. The day before his Dr appointment a supply of this BFree bread arrived. I went home and read even more and it is great for him! It does not have the wheat, has real grains and no gluten. He is so excited.

Anthony’s favorite after school and before soccer practice snack is sandwiches or roll ups. He thought he wasn’t going to be able to have any before practice anymore. That type of snack holds his hunger so well until the late dinners on practice night. Because BFree is OK for his diet, he had his first turkey and cheese roll up on BFree Quinoa & Chia Seed wrap. He loved it!

BFree breads consist of brown seeded and white breads, buns, rolls, bagels, wraps. Not only are they wheat and gluten free, there is so much more goodness to them. Here is a list of what BFree does and does not contain in its products:

  • Wheat Free
  • Dairy Free
  • Egg Free
  • Nut Free
  • Soy Free
  • Non-GMO
  • Vegan
  • Kosher
  • Certified Gluten Free
  • High in Fiber
  • Low in Fat
  • 100 Calories

This is all great news for allergy sufferers. You can find BFree products at retailers. See their store locator to find a location near you and serve the best for your morning bagel or afternoon sandwich and again for dinner rolls.

 Honey-Stinger-Product-Line | Parenting Healthy

Honey is one of the most natural sources of energy and it is low in carbs. So many years ago Honey Stinger began to market smaller packs of honey as natural energy bursts. From there it developed into honey snacks from chews, waffle snacks, bars and even a full kid line of natural energy as well as the other benefits of honey. For children,  you get snack-sized waffles as well as chews that are all organic and an excellent source of Vitamin C.

Honey-Stinger-Waffles | Parenting Healthy

I wasn’t sure  what to expect when I saw a thin package labeled (flavored) Waffle. Essentially, they are soft waffle-like crackers with a flavored honey center. I say cracker for the lack of a better word, but the entire snack is super chewy and delicious. You really can taste the real ingredients. They are wrapped in a single wrapper and are all organic. Some flavors are gluten-free as well.

Organic-Energy Chews | Parenting Healthy

If you like fruity, you’ll love the Organic Energy Chews. It’s like a giant, soft fruit snack for adults with blasts of fruit flavors. They are naturally occurring fiber and protein derived from 100% organic tapioca syrup and honey.

Honey-Stinger-Snack-Bars | Parenting Healthy

If you like to get your energy from nuts and grains. the Honey Stinger Snack Bars are wholesome and make a great mid-day snack. They are low in sugar, non GMO ingredients and gluten free ingredients and organic honey. There are 4 flavors: Peanut Butter & Jelly, Nuts, Seeds & Roasted Serrano, Cran-Apple & Walnuts and the Super Fruit & Ancient Grain.

Honey-Stinger-Kids-Organic-Snacks | Parenting Healthy

Now there are snacks for the kids too! Flavored organic honey waffles and sour fruit chews. I tried the sour chews and they weren’t sour as in puckered lips, but just a large blast of fruit flavor. My son says “these have the most fruit taste than fruit snacks..”. You won’t find any artificial colors or flavors or preservatives and HFCS in the products. They are all organic and make great lunchbox snacks or to pack for game day.
