Our House Fire
I used to use a radiant heaters in my home until a fire our son had in the family home he was renting from my in-laws. He had a new puppy and one of his stuffed animal toys ended up wedged under the heater and they were startled awake by their puppy one morning to flames in the living room. They made it out safely but the home was heavily damaged. Since then I use ceramic heaters with safety features for tip overs and overheating shut off like my new NewAir Portable Ceramic Space Heater. Had they had these features it would have been a much better outcome. They lost everything in that fire to flames, water and smoke including all windows that blew out.
Features of the NewAir
The NewAir Portable Ceramic Space Heater has all the safety features you would want and even heats in a safer way than how other types of heaters work. With ceramic heaters they operate like a convection system where the ceramic elements do not get overheated. Like all heaters you want space around them, but the way that a ceramic heater works there is a lesser chance of articles around it catching fire.
Features of the NewAir Portable Ceramic Space Heater
- Anti-tip shut off
- Integrated timer
- Customizable range of heat from 41-95 degrees F
- Cool touch casing
- Hi and Lo settings
With weather patterns changing and the prediction of a very cold winter here in the Pacific NW, I love having ceramic heaters for the garage when we have to do car work or oil changes so we can have some warmth outside the home. I also have used them with our generator when we lose electricity for a period of time.
This heater heats up a room very well. It does best at about 400 square feet for complete warmth, but you can still feel that heat from a bit larger area I have found. If you know someone who works outside the home- on cars, in the garage or RV’s this is a great gift and is built for warmth and safety.
