Welcome to the 2016 school year. If it is anything like past school years September will be packed full of new routines and new sports season only to be followed by several holidays in a row from October to January. The nights will be busy. Some night it may be impossible to create a nutritious meal for everyone to sit down and enjoy together. I encourage as many of those as possible, but this post os for those on-the-go days of something quick for the kids while you can enjoy something nutritious and quick for yourself. I have teamed up with Veestro in this back to school campaign about Meals for Me (Me being busy Mom and Dad).
What is Veestro?
Vesstro is a plant-based meal delivery program. You get fresh pre-made meals to keep in your freezer that just need simple preparations to enjoy them. The meals are all-natural, preservative-free, high in protein and fiber with simple ingredients.
First you choose your picks from any of the 4 menus:
- A La Carte: breakfast, entress, soups, desserts, juice
- Meal Packs: starter packs, 21 day kickstart, high protein, gluten free, juice cleanse
- Weight Loss: Light-Weight plan 1, More-to-Please Plan 2, All-Pleasing plan 3
- Juice Cleanse: 3 day juice cleanse, 5 day juice cleanse
Meals you selected are prepared by the Veestro Chef with organic plant base. Then the meals arrive, packed frozen and ready to heat and eat.
What is on the menu?
I cannot list every dish currently on the menu, but here are a few meals and items you can choose from right now for any meal of the day
- Breakfast Burrito
- Spanish Torta
- Soba Noodles in Peanut Sauce
- Red Curry with Tofu
- Enchilada Casserole
- Veggie Pesto Pizza
- Raspberry or Chocolate Cheezcake
- Tomato Lentil or Quinoa Soups (more soups too)
- Juice blends
I was sent several different Veestro frozen meals and a la carte items. I have tried the Chick’n Quesadilla, Hand Grenade juice, Soba Noodles with Peanut Sauce, Red Curry with Tofu and Veggies, Omelet Primavera and Enchilada Casserole. The first meal I tried was the Soba Noodles with Peanut Sauce. It doesn’t even require heating up. I did not think ahead and thaw it so I did use the microwave to defrost the noodles, but if you thaw it is a dish best served cold. All you do is cut the packet of noodles and sauce and mix in a bowl and eat. It has so much flavor and you can see each ingredient in the dish. Just a little kick but the spice wasn’t too spicy.
