Learning portion control with Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating menus

Whether you are trying to eat healthier, lose weight or learn to put meals together in correct portions, Seattle Sutton’s Healthy Eating has meal plans that can be delivered right to your door. These meals can be ordered as a half or full week of meals, ordered by the calorie plan you desire or a recurring plan. Perhaps a friend just came home from the hospital-you can send meals to their door. The menus come packed as a complete breakfast, lunch or dinner. My son and I had a busy weekend and reached for some before soccer and before taking a drive down to see some family as a quick meal that did not leave me a mess to clean up. They left us full and having a healthy meal in seconds.
Before heading to a soccer practice, my son and I grabbed a meal. My son wanted a breakfast meal and I chose a lunch meal. Each package is labeled as a 1st half or second half of the week breakfast, lunch or dinner. As you can see above, my son wanted a bagel and that one is labeled as 1st Part Breakfast from the 1200 calorie plan. You see the ingredients of each selection on the label as well.

Here is a 1200 calorie weekly plan breakfast with an apple bagel, cream cheese, date cup and apple juice.

Above is a lunch from the 1200 calorie weekly plan and contains potato skins, a sour cream/chive topping, apple slices and a carob chip cookie that was delicious!
For these meals, you may have to nuke some items for a few seconds. I put my son’s bagel in the microwave for about 10 seconds and my potato skins in for 1 minute and put the waffles below my son is eating in the toaster. Because you store these meals in the fridge they can be nuked if you prefer it that way.

On a weekend breakfast my son grabbed the flax seed waffles with cream cheese and fruit topping. He loved it and it filled him up nicely! It really is as easy as opening the fridge and grabbing a meal and heating up portions of it if you wish for a few seconds. You can eat right from the box it is packaged in or plate it.
Learning portion control

Once you get used to grabbing such meals you begin to learn portion control. You can learn that when you at the right types of foods in a balanced meal, it does not take large portions to fill you up. Having ingredients like flax seed and using whole grain breads and starches are just little healthy additions that help you feel fuller.
