Are you staying sun-safe?

Have you noticed the healthy new year so far? The buzz is all about eating healthy, living healthy and acknowledging our unhealthy practices. I am so glad that “Healthy” is a trending topic. When you read and hear these stories, we cannot forget about our skin health as the summer nears. UV rays! We know they are bad, we lather our children in sunscreens. Now we are a bit more health conscious so we need to stop and consider the chemicals in most sunscreens and determine how safe they really are. Or we can find sun-proof clothing to throw on the kids and hit the outdoors! That last option sounds so much easier!

Sun Protection Zone has SunSkinz that are safer than some sunscreens and protect the body from harmful UV rays. My son was sent the Blue and White Long Sleeve rash guard and I love that it has long sleeves. That eliminates a huge portion of his body I do not have to lather up. Sun and long-sleeve? This material is so light-weight and meant to get wet that it works great on long days at the lake or water park. Have you ever spent the day swimming and have to bring layers as the sun sets and the kids get cold coming out of the water? SunSkinz will stay on them in the water and keep them protected out of the water and dry time is much less than the cotton products the kids ten to wear.
