From Scratch: The Uncensored History of the Food Network
Release Date: October 7, 2014
Martha Stewart, Paula Dean, Bobby Flay, Ree Drummond, Robert Irvine and more!
Food Network fans, this book is for you! Cooking shows have come a long way since the 80’s brought TV and internet together. The early 90’s brought us the first Food Network. This book covers the network’s story from beginning till now. You will be reminded of stories and features of your favorite Chefs and cooking stars. You will also get behind-the-scenes revelations about your favorite or not-so-favorite moments for these stars. You get inside revelations about Robert Irvine and his bullying personality as he confronts a rising rival, Paula Dean’s struggles and triumphs as she works to rebuild her brand against odds and Ree Drummond, the Pioneer Women as she struggles to adapt being a TV star.
I could not put down this book. As I read a story or feature and remembered the moments or episodes discussed, it would lead into another feature and again I related to the story. It was one inside look into these stars after another. I am always fascinated about the history of anything and I learned a lot I had missed along the way as a Food Network fan. It really portrays the struggles, then rise of some of our favorite stars. It is a tough industry and one can really become inspired as they find themselves struggling as a professional in any industry.
