Family Camping Stories and our Pelican Cooler

See these 3 boys? This was taken about 7 years ago. Camping, ATV’s and cars have been the glue that keeps our boys close. As they get older and go away to school and have jobs they settle into their own busy lives, but when we say “RV to the dunes…” we have their undivided attention. Anthony, our youngest just turned 11 and he needs to keep his older brothers close and creating small family getaways is how we do that.

When Father’s Day and birthdays come around I can never go wrong with gifts meant for the next family camping trip, it’s for “the next time we take the boys out..”-always a hit!

This Father’s Day my husband is gifted a new Pelican Cooler. It is a simple item. A box that keeps drinks cool, but through the upgrades in RV’s, ATV’s, riding equipment and trucks in the years it is the cooler that travels along every time.

Let’s get close up with this Pelican 50Qt Elite Cooler so you understand why this makes such a fantastic gift for Dad on Father’s Day or a birthday.

Let’s start at the top! There are 4 (not 2) cupholders built in along with a measuring grid. Fishermen will love this ready-to-measure feature. If you don’t fish, hand the kids jerky sticks and watch them brag about who got given the longest piece (that’s something we would do-lol). That’s sibling bonding at its finest!

Moving on down, notice the latches? These are press and pull latches and made wide so if you are wearing gloves when outdoors or working you can easily open. Oh…the middle metal piece between the 2 latches is a bottle opener (now camping just got more fun)!

Let’s open the cooler. Plenty of room! What you get is a freezer grade seal for extreme ice retention. Stainless steel latches keep out curious hands, and bears. There is a drain plug at the bottom, but you’ll have to work at melting that ice first!

Being a typical Mom, this next feature excites me! Have you owned coolers and when stored or on the ground for days you dread turning that thing over to clean? This Pelican (while all Pelican coolers) have non-skid & non-marking raised feet.

OK, having an 11 year old does no justice as to the weight the Pelican Cooler can hold. I have seen images where people have used it to prop up engines and more. But, this is not just an 11 year old on a cooler talking with Dad and big brothers. This is a bundle of memories and along the way, perhaps as he camps with his children one day this same cooler will be in background photos of his own memories one day.

For now, it is extra seating in a pinch….plus, his older brothers always bully him out of the lounge chairs.

Getting a cooler to last years and years means a cooler that will sit idle to all of your memories. Your Pelican Cooler will last through generations and be at the center of another decade of memories and so on.

With Pelican Coolers, you aren’t just getting Dad or husband a box to keep drinks cold, but a seat, a companion, a box to hold those memories even if it was a camping trip you needed to bribe the older kids to come spend a weekend with you. It’s the last cooler you will buy!

Visit Pelican.com and shop for Dad! Buy online or find at retailers near you. I found a 20% coupon on Amazon (while it lasts).
