The Tuttle Twins and the Road to Surfdom!

The Tuttle Twins and The Road to Surfdom

by: Conner Boyack

If you have not heard of the Tuttle Twins book series, they are easy-to-read chapter books that touch on the topics of law and politics in simple terms for kids to follow along. With titles such as, The Tuttle Twins Learn About the Law and The Tuttle Twins and the Food Truck Fiasco kids are engaged as they learn about economic principles.

In The Tuttle Twins and the Road to Surfdom the twins learn that a new road that will be a quicker route to their favorite beach also has major effects on the community. A problem was solved, but many more were created. The words are easy enough for my 8 year old to read and the illustrations are colored and engaging.

History is not just for the classroom books. With relatable stories children will love you can continue the education of law, history and policy at home. No biased opinions, just a look at problems like when you get what you want it can have negative effects on others. The word ‘politics’ and ‘educating children’ can be a scary combination, but the book is brilliantly written without opinions or bias notations. Just a simple message that everyone can relate to. Simply head over and vote for your favorite (or “if I have to”) candidate for this election of 2016. I won’t reveal my pick here-no politics and negative comments are wanted on this blog so I will not declare. However, let’s just say I am not choosing the one who is always caught in lies and has not been surrounded by negative comments. Wait! That describes none of these candidates. I’ll check a box by election day and in the meantime eat a cookie to help the stress of choosing a leader out of our choices.
