I was recently sent an assortment of Chutney from Bombay Emerald Chutney Company. I had never tried a chutney before and now I find myself grabbing it for all sorts of ideas to pair with many foods. I have used it to stir-fry chicken and dip pita chips into. Chutney is such a versatile blend that I cannot believe I went this long knowing nothing about it. It is instant flavor. A condiment, sauce, marinade, dip and so much more!
I was sent the Royal Plum, Royal Cranberry and Royal Tomato Chutneys. The Plum was excellent in stir fry and with some pita chips. The Tomato spread so well in a sandwich I made. I can eat the cranberry with a spoon out of the jar-it tastes that good! They have a spice to them, but not in the sense of fiery. It is more of a curry or enhanced flavor. I have a graphic I made below to help you find ways to use chutney in so many recipes.
