As Summer approaches, I have been keeping my eye out on grilling recipes. i have almost half a cow in my freezer and need to get creative so we don’t tire of our steaks and roasts. My favorite way to eat steak is grilled, so I am excited for better weather so we can hit the back deck with some fresh recipes. In searching around, I have come across some funky recipes to grill food I never thought was grillable! Maybe it is not odd to some, but it was to me. Here are a few grilled foods you may not have heard about…..
Hmmm. I will have to try this to decide if grilled is the way to eat Watermelon, for real! Cut wedges at least 1/2 inch thick and brush w/ an Olive oil mixture. You can add minced onion or garlic, some S&P, herbs. Then Grill about 2 minutes on each side. Top with Fudge, Ice Cream or Fruit. Here is a recipe from Food Network.
As a working Mom who has a working husband and a house of boys, we are always on the go. Breakfast seems to be a rushed event and I find myself grabbing something I can eat once I get to the office and can sit and enjoy my breakfast. I recently received samples of Seneca Farms Oatmeal to try and they went over well. Compared to other Oatmeals I have tried and are still in my cupboard because the boys have not been ones to take the time to have to make a bowl of oatmeal, the Seneca Farms Oatmeal is unique. These Oatmeals have a few benefits which make them different and fun:
-They have great flavors: Apple Cinnamon, Vanilla Peach, Cranberry Apple and my favorite-Maple and
-They are portable and cook in 45 seconds inside a microwave without having to add milk or water.
-They offer an excellent source of Vitamin C
-They do not come with the Trans Fats and Cholesterol that other Oatmeals have
I was given Apple Cinnamon and Vanilla Peach to try. Both are delicious. I never trust times in my Microwave so I backed off to 40 seconds and it was perfect. Plenty of moisture remains within the Oatmeal keeping the consistency just right. They smell and taste great. The packages come in 2 packs and were just the right amount in each cup to satisfy us. My son loved the Apple Cinnamon best and devoured his.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Mom Blog Society Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers
Now I work full time and maintain a blog. I have a husband that works later then I do, so I am also the one that has to do dinner for my boys’. Cook’n has the most organized, online recipe system I have seen. I had been browsing other recipe programs that end up seeming foreign as they are truly meant for Chef’s, such as programs my brother has used. He is a Chef and can understand the lingo better than me. That is why I love Cook’n. It is so easy and simple. Their ‘Caption’ button even makes Copy/pasting recipes a one-click process!
