First, watch this video, then I will give you my thoughts and a giveaway-

Do You Date Your Spouse Regularly?

What are you waiting for? Dates do not have to be about money or place. Thy can be after the kids are in bed-on the couch-just you two! Date nights are what my husband and I fight for. We truly credit those times for our communication skills, parenting plans and less stress as a couple. I have been married to my husband for 8 years and we are still the best of friends and deeply in love. It is because magical things can happen during these nights.

We recently were in a situation where we had to talk to our teen about why we do date nights. My stepson had been being told by his Bio Mom that for his Dad and I to ‘USE’ him as a sitter for our ‘SELFISH’ needs was something he should not tolerate. Meanwhile her marriage is full of negativity and one most would not tolerate. I am glad she pulled this as the conversation with my son resulted in a very important lesson for him. He has 2 examples of  married life-ours and his Mothers and we asked what life would he want when our age! You can guess his answer and we asked if he knew what one thing we do to make our marriage as strong and respectful as it is? Date nights. I began thanking him for his babysitting of brother and that as we need him for these nights he is doing him and his brother the greatest favor as our children by giving us and them this gift of time. I only hope he grows up to date his Wife for as long as they live!

Date nights are not about money or place as I mentioned above. Magic can happen. Problems get solved. You may have trials and errors as you start date nights after some time of not making them a priority, as you learn to communicate all over again. Do it anyway-your children are watching!
