This is a promotional post for HP. Opinions are my own
I did it again! I accepted another year of PTA President at my son’s elementary school for next school year. Another year of creating and printing flyers and announcements and managing our website and Facebook page for parents and students. The one thing we started last year was that we allowed 2 Co-Presidents so I have help! I do the events, flyers, social maintenance and my other co handles the laws, deadlines and meetings. As PTA President, there is more paper and at-home work than anything. We can go use the staff room all we want, but with only 1 decent printer and over 750 students, I cannot stand and consume the printer that long without a teacher or staff member needing it. At home, I worry I would run out of ink with so many copies. I also have event and board flyers at times too. We made some changes to save the paper and printing. For one, we can now upload our flyers into the district files to be emailed to parents at our school and I became an HP Instant Ink member. The reality is paper gets a response with events better than an upload you have to subscribe to get from the district.
I have an HP Instant Ink eligible printer. The HP Envy 5660 costs under $150 and can print, scan, copy and do photo wirelessly. I am so excited about the wireless feature on this printer because I can sit on the couch and while reading emails or messages, I can take a print that a board member may email me and save it as a document right on my phone then open my HP All-in-One Remote app and hit print! My copy is sitting on my printer and I never left the couch or promised myself I will print out later only to forget.
Why do I need an HP Instant Ink compatible printer? Because it works with my ink cartridge to send a message to HP when I am low and I have ink at my door within days and before I run out! How simple is that?
The cartridges have more ink, but cost less. Within these ink cartridges, it senses when I run low-typically after I have printed so many copies- and ink will arrive in time. My last printer would run out so fast and with one son in High School, it always seemed to be a night he waited until the last minute to print an assignment. Off to the store I would go for more ink and $45 later I was home with some. I tried those refill services, but that was always a short-life cartridge and I needed to refill so often. I am actually saving money in the long run and having a monthly set up with HP Instant Ink prices, it does not hurt my pocket to replace my ink anymore.
I do not notice my ink running out faster. The capable printers do not cost a fortune. There are price plans I can choose that fit my needs and once I sign up, all that is needed to start my plan is to insert those cartridges sent to me and then wait for ink in the mail at the right time as needed!
How to get started saving on ink today!
- Find an HP Instant Ink printer HERE!
- Sign up and choose your plan at HPConnected
- Your ink will arrive in a few days and once that ink is installed, your enrollment starts.
- Ink will arrive as the cartridge messages HP you are low
When you get your new printer, it comes with ink so you are free to print away on those cartridges. If you purchase an eligible printer you get 3 months of free ink when you start here: http://hp.nu/NswLg. My ink arrived and I am still using the ink that came with my new HP Envy printer so I have it in a drawer and once I run out and install those particular cartridges, my plan starts communicating with them within my printer so I never run out of ink.
To make these printers and HP service even more attractive, they have the new HP Social Snapshots. When you have those Instagram or social photos you want printed, simply head into the HP Social Media Snapshot App and edit any text to print out on the sticky-backed 4×5″ photo sheets. Because your printer is so intelligent, it knows when you are printing from the snapshot app and will grab the snapshot sheets and make sure the print is on this paper you have loaded.
Before school is back in, I will have a board meeting with all of the 2015/2016 PTA crew so we can get event dates and meeting dates locked down for the year. After that, I have registration packets to make and send home with over 750 students. I have a packet of flyers from the membership form, to event sign ups, PTA FYI sheets and Box Top collection info to name a few. I will go through thousands of pieces of paper for that first month before I can calm down a bit and only stick to event flyers and announcements. My first HP Instant Ink enrollment cartridge is ready to go and I can print away knowing I will #NeverRunOut. HP Instant Ink is a board member’s best friend!
