Build-A-Bear’s accomplishment of 100 million best friends made
One of my Favorite Friend Quotes is: “Friends are God’s way of taking care of us.”
Personally, I have had had many friends. I was never the type to go through High School and beyond with just 1 Best Friend as I had a few close friends. However, when asked who my Best Friend is, my Cousin always comes to mind. We grew up in the same town and are 6 months apart in age. We were complete opposite personalities and we had a blast growing up. The first time I was allowed to leave the “street” and ride a bike to the store alone was with my Cousin. We used to go to sleep when spending the night by drawing pictures on each other’s back and guessing what the picture was. We always seem to find ways to get into the oddest trouble together and at 15 years Old, my Mom broke the news we were moving out of state. I was devastated especially as I just finished my 1st year of High School and had some good friends. But, the worst was the day I was to say Goodbye to my cousin. We actually got on our bikes and began to run away (we made it as far as the next town and stopped at the YMCA to call our Parents to get us because we were tired and couldn’t pedal all the way back). We had promised when we got older we would Marry on the same day and have the Girls wear Pink Converse and the Boys Green Converse! Fast forward to now- She still lives in Ca. and me 2 states above her. I am Married to a wonderful man and am a proud Mom to 3 Boys and she became a proud Mom to her first child-a son this past B-Day of hers! We did not Marry w/ Converse on the same day, although she was definitely in my wedding.
Whether your Friend is a Furry One, a relative or Someone you have known as long as you can remember you never forget. If you have a child like my son and given that awesome age of 3, you know that he can take the simplest of people or his toys and be quick to call them his Friends. Recently he had his 1st Trip to Build-A-Bear to spend his XMAS Gift Card he got from his Auntie. He has been inseparable. He named the Penguin after Himself. He chose Erik from Happy Feet and says his name is: Anthony Erik Happy Feet. He also chose the Hockey Outfit–appropriate for a Penguin I must say! He tells people his Heart is in Anthony and it really is. At Build a Bear the staff gives him a Heart asks him to hold it close and drop into his Friend after he is fluffed and that Heart is sewn in! It was the cutest process ever! The perfect gift!
